The DHT Lab believes that the mentorship and education of students is important to creating the next generation of innovators and designers.

The DHT Lab offers the following education opportunities.

  • Dr. Malkin working with a student

    BME 462 & BME 195: Dr. Malkin teaches two undergraduate classes related to undestanding and designing of medical devices in the developing world.

  • EWH Summer Institute: For almost a decade, the DHT lab has worked closely with Engineering World Health to run hands-on educational programs based in Nicaragua and Tanzania for students during the summer. 
  • Student Research: The DHT lab supports student work through two fellowships, work study positions, and mentoring students in national design challenges.
